🔥🎸 THE LONG RUN ARE COMING BACK TO THE RAILWAY! 🎸🔥This one has a bit of history behind it…
Hailing from Canvey Island, The Long Run formed back in 2005 — and incredibly played their first ever gig the day after their first rehearsal! Since then, Darren Jones, John Cordon, Gavin Jones and Ryan Love have taken their music all over the country, playing everywhere from Southend and London to Brighton, Liverpool and Newcastle.
Their sound is a proper melting pot of Rock ’n’ Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Blues, Folk and Indie, with original material alongside the kind of music that makes for a cracking live show. They’ve even written and recorded an album inspired by their Canvey Island roots, its history, characters and folklore.
And The Railway Hotel has been part of their story too. The band played here in the early days, and more recently were invited back for our reopening — so having them return to the Railway stage feels exactly right. Their own website described playing our grand opening as a “privilege”. ❤️
