Join Us for A Sensory Night Hike October 26th, 2026 | 6:00pm meet up, 6:30pm start
Ages 10 to Adult | Sands Point Preserve
Step onto the trail as daylight fades and experience the preserve in a completely different way.
The Living Night is a guided sensory night hike designed for curious people who want to slow down, look closer, listen deeper, and experience nature after sunset. As the landscape shifts from dusk into night, familiar paths, trees, sounds, and shadows take on a new life.
This is more than a walk in the dark. Along the way, we will explore how our senses adjust after sunset, listen for the hidden activity of the evening landscape, look to the sky for stories and direction, and consider how darkness itself supports the living world around us.
One of the central ideas of this experience is simple but powerful: the night is a habitat. Darkness is not empty space; it is part of the ecosystem. Through guided observation and simple activities, participants will discover how light, shadow, sound, and attention can change the way we experience the natural world.
Join Forgotten Skillz for a slower, quieter, more curious kind of night hike—one that invites you to meet the evening landscape with wonder instead of hurry.
