THE LIMBO CLUB
A Queer Cabaret

We all have stories to tell. Some we're asked to share. Some we're forced to repeat. And some we've never had the freedom to say out loud at all.

But what happens when the story is ours to choose?

Step behind the velvet curtains of The Limbo Club, a dazzling world of extravagant characters and endless entertainment, where the music never stops, the waiting never ends, and the residents tell the same stories night after night after night.

Until tonight, that is, when everything changes…

Join us for a deliciously defiant evening of music, dance, comedy and storytelling.

Co-created with LGBTQIA+ refugees and people seeking asylum, The Limbo Club is a bold, saucy celebration of love and self-expression. Expect glamour, big voices and a whole lot of heart.

Running time: Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes (no interval)

This production contains stories that reference sexual themes and personal traumatic experiences, including war, displacement, loss, and scenes depicting emotional distress. The Limbo Club is recommended for ages 14+

The Limbo Club joins the legacy of Good Chance’s Hope Shows, co-created performances that began in our Dome in the Calais Jungle refugee camp and later in Paris, London, Sheffield and beyond. Each show was produced with the local community of refugees and asylum seekers, celebrating their unique artistic talents, and offering a space for people to come together and dream of a shared future.

The Limbo Club is part of the revival of this founding project, relaunched in 2025 with The Wish Tree with Migrants Organise, and this year presented in London with an extraordinary group of LGBTQIA+ community members from displaced backgrounds in partnership with Micro Rainbow.

Thank you so much to our funders and friends who have made this possible, especially to the generosity of the Rothschild Foundation, the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation and the SHM Foundation for helping make our Hope Show dreams come true.
