About this Event

Set off on a lamplit pathway to the Rockwood Hall Foundation site. Overlooking the Hudson River with views of the bridge and Manhattan downsteam, you will be immersed into old Sleepy Hollow, where there is more lore than our Horseman legend.

Learn of the lesser-known lore that occurred right here in Rockefeller State Park Preserve before delving into Washington Irving's seminal work, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The iconic short story was inspired by real locations in the area that exist today. You will be surprised how truly close to the tale you get!

You will finish the night chilled by a brush with the Headless Horseman himself. Will you survive to tell the tale?

This event is at our Rockwood Hall site, NOT at the main Preserve entrance. Rockwood Hall is located behind Phelps Memorial Hospital. If the small parking lot is full, you may park at the Phelps parking garage for free. There is a path that will bring you to the Rockwood Hall trailhead.

Rockwood Hall's trailhead is located at the western end of Route 117 on Rockwood Road. You may also turn into Phelps Memorial Hospital off of Route 9 and find the small parking lot behind the hospital.
