The historic sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church of SLO will once again fill with the sounds of live music as the celebrated Jazz Vespers Concert Series returns on Sunday, October 18, at 4:00 PM. This performance features The Jazz Alley Review, a premier septet based on the Central Coast known for their expansive repertoire and dynamic performances. The septet plays most styles of jazz from traditional to hard bop, jazz/rock and fusion. While the band members bring a remarkably diverse set of professional backgrounds—ranging from music education and performance to computer science, neurology, clinical psychology, corrections and audio/videography — they are united by a shared, deep-seated passion for celebrating jazz music in all its forms. The band includes Lee Irwin (saxophone), Ron Phillips (trombone), David Johns (trumpet), Charlotte Belyea (saxophone), Craig Updegrove (piano), Travis Harms (bass) and Rob Price (drums).
