Join Christ Church Cathedral for a joyful Choral Evensong on the Feast of St. Cecilia, patron saint of music and musicians, and the installation of Dr. Joseph Causby as our Director of Music and Organist.Through psalms, anthems, prayer, and the beauty of the Anglican choral tradition, we will give thanks for Joe’s ministry among us and for music’s power to deepen our common prayer and proclaim the Gospel.
Dr. Causby is an accomplished organist, choirmaster, scholar, and leader in Episcopal church music. He is a graduate of Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music and holds a doctorate in Musicology from the University of Durham in England, where he served as Organ Scholar at Durham Cathedral. He is also a past president and Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music.
A festive reception will follow the service.
All are welcome—come celebrate this new chapter in the Cathedral’s musical life.
