Acoustic set with top secret collaborations!“Judas” Electric full band performance!Celebrity guests! All seated show!Maize based snacks! Ian Passey (aka The Humdrum Express) is a singer/songwriter, band leader, poet, author and, according the The Guardian, a cult figure... Already ingrained in the fabric of the town hall building, Ian is prominently featured on the Kidderminster themed painting which adorns our box office wall. We’re delighted to welcome him (and a string of surprise guests) for a life-affirming evening of mischievous, musical wordplay, here in his hometown. Regularly championed by BBC 6 Music and 'famed' for withering critique, The Humdrum Express melodiously delivers a literary barrage of quirky subjects, surreal characters and familiar cultural references. “Brilliant, observationally… Part of me just wants to stand up and applaud” – Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music “Acerbic and often absurdist chronicles of popular culture” – Adrian Goldberg “An observational dive into unusual song matter, swaying between niche and kitchen sink irony” – At The Barrier "Tuneful, eclectic and absolutely bloody hilarious" – The Morning Star
