Join Budist, David Bienenstock, and CBCB for The History of W**d, an afternoon of stories, laughs, and guided tastings in one of the world's most legendary cannabis cities: Berkeley, California.
Part stand-up comedy, part history class, The History of W**d is David's love letter to the plant. As host of Great Moments in W**d History, the world's most popular cannabis podcast with over 1 million downloads, David has spent his life chasing cannabis' 10,000-year story. Think Willie Nelson lighting up on the roof of the White House, Carl Sagan's stoned epiphanies, and Brownie Mary baking her "magically delicious" treats just across the Bay. These are the stories history class left out, told by the guy who knows them best.
Before and after the show, our cannabis sommeliers (aka Budists) will guide guests through two hours of curated flower and concentrate tastings, exploring the many expressions of California cannabis. At the beverage bar, Jamie Evans of The Herb Somm will share her craft through THC beverage tastings and a custom infused cocktail. DJ Victor Pinho will set the mood, while award-winning cannabis journalist David Downs hosts the afternoon as our emcee. All of it unfolds inside the historic Chapel of the Flowers—an inviting setting to sip, savor, and swap stories with fellow enthusiasts.
David Bienenstock is the author of How to Smoke Pot (Properly), creator of VICE's Bong Appetit, a former editor at High Times, and producer of Hulu's 4x20 Quick Hits. Few people have told this plant's story with more humor, heart, and authority.
