About this Event

When an athlete is injured, the focus is often on physical recovery, but the emotional and psychological impact can be just as significant.

Join Tom Berry, founder of , as he shares insights from his own experience of injury during his rugby career and the work he now does supporting athletes through recovery.

This session will shine a light on the often-overlooked mental challenges that can accompany injury, including loss of identity, isolation, uncertainty and the pressure to return to sport.

During this session, we will:

  • Explore the hidden emotional and psychological impact of injury in sport.
  • Discuss how social media, comparison culture and online pressures can influence recovery experiences.
  • Share practical strategies for athletes, coaches, parents and teammates to better support wellbeing during injury and rehabilitation.
  • Consider ways to reduce feelings of isolation and create a more supportive recovery environment.

Whether you are an athlete, coach, parent, sports professional or simply interested in athlete wellbeing, this session will provide valuable insights and practical tools to help support positive recovery journeys both on and off the field.

This session will be held in Tewkesbury with the venue TBC.
