𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 invites you to celebrate Día de los Muertos with us in an all-ages experience of connecting with ancestors in healing ways, and dreaming up the legacy we want to leave for future generations. We will create an ofrenda altar together, so please bring any objects you wish to share that represent departed loved ones or ancestors.
Featuring these powerful guides and nourishing experiences:
𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 is a decolonial guide, healer, and pilgrimage weaver devoted to reconnecting people with ancestral wisdom that lives in the body
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝 creates a landscape of sounds, words and symbols that open us to healing, and to embracing the beauty of our brokenness. Sari Brown is also the founder of the The Healing Feast and its resident priestess of song, dance, and kitchen magic.
𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 is a community drum circle guide with a magical way of creating a space to improvise and co-create meaning through sound and rhythm
𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐮: 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 - Tamales like you’ve never had them! Green chicken, red pork, green vegan bean & veggie. Dessert of Dulce de Calabaza (pumpkin sweetened in panela syrup and cinnamon, served with milk)
𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬: Sliding scale tickets are $22-$66, and child tickets are $10. Tickets are available in advance at the link or at the event while supplies last, but sometimes we sell out! Ticket prices are a few dollars more on the day of the event. Free tickets are also available for people with financial constraints and/or who feel they can best contribute to this event in other, non-monetary ways. (Contact us at [email protected] if you want to volunteer!)
𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬: Check-in and mingling begins at 5:00 PM, ceremonial opening and dinner at 5:30 pm, participatory creative experience 6:30-8:30 pm.
𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭: The Fledge, 1300 Eureka St., Lansing, MI 48912.
𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭: 20% of all proceeds raised will go to 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, our venue host, to support this radically inclusive ideation and maker space, incubator, and accelerator that is in turn supporting the people and ideas that are building a more just, equitable, and cooperative economy in Lansing, Michigan
