About this Event
In honor of the late Aziz Alghashian, a distinguished Saudi researcher and valued voice in Gulf affairs, the Arab Gulf States Institute and Middle East Institute are hosting a commemorative talk reflecting on the state of the Gulf at a pivotal moment in its history. Drawing on Alghashian’s scholarship, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to dialogue, the discussion will explore how the region is navigating shifting security dynamics, evolving relationships with the United States and other global powers, and the future of Saudi Arabia’s regional role. The event will celebrate Alghashian’s enduring contributions to understanding Saudi foreign policy and the Gulf while carrying forward the thoughtful, nuanced conversations that defined his work and legacy.
