Prepare for a breathtaking evening of musical mastery as Eleonora Strino, one of the most promising talents in the international jazz scene , and Jorge Caballero, one of the world’s most celebrated classical guitarists, take the stage.
One of the brightest new talents of Italian jazz, guitarist Eleonora Strino has launched a career that has seen her rub shoulders with experienced musicians such as, among others, the Americans Greg Cohen and Joey Baron, with whom she recorded the I Got Strings album. Her style is rooted in the modern school of jazz guitar, from Jim Hall to Barney Kessel, but is enriched by a personal connection that draws the audience in.
In the span of a decades-long career, Peruvian born guitarist and composer Jorge Caballero has accrued wide recognition as one of the most important guitarists in its history, being the recipient of several international awards, and performing in recitals, chamber music and as soloist around the world. Aside from the standard guitar literature he performs –which spans centuries of music from the Renaissance until the present, Mr. Caballero is notorious for adapting and performing masterworks originally written for piano or orchestra. One critic in Italy referred to Mr. Caballero as “standing on top of the repertoire’s Mount Everest,” while the New York Times called him “a masterly guitarist” with “chameleonic timbres.”
