The Prince George’s County Barbers Association (PGCBASSN) is excited to announce that House of Ruth Marylandwill provide the Domestic Violence Awareness Training at our upcoming Community Impact Summit!
And there’s more:
🎉 THE FIRST 50 REGISTERED BEAUTY PROFESSIONALS WILL HAVE THEIR CERTIFICATION FEE PAID BY OUR SPONSORS!
That means eligible attendees can receive the required training and certificate at no cost to them, courtesy of our community sponsors.

This summit is designed to move beyond simply completing a requirement.
Our goal is for beauty and grooming professionals to leave EDUCATED, CERTIFIED & EQUIPPED with credible information and community resources they can take back to their barbershops, salons, suites, and workplaces.

IMPORTANT: YOUR ROLE IS CONNECTION, NOT INTERVENTION
This initiative isn't about turning barbers, cosmetologists, stylists, or other beauty professionals into domestic-violence counselors.
It's about helping professionals understand the issue, recognize concerns, maintain appropriate professional boundaries, and know where to direct someone who may need qualified assistance.

Registration is required. Sponsored certificates are available to the first 50 eligible beauty professionals who successfully register for the certification opportunity, subject to attendance and completion requirements.
Once the 50 sponsored spaces are filled, the complimentary certification offer will close.

Maryland barbers, cosmetologists, hairstylists, salon and barbershop owners, beauty professionals, grooming professionals, students preparing to enter the industry, and professionals interested in strengthening their connection to community resources are encouraged to attend.
