Hosted in partnership with Toronto’s own Spirit of York Distillery, this masterclass demystifies one of history’s most misunderstood spirits—tracing its rise, its infamous ban, and its role in modern cocktail culture.
The evening begins with an absinthe cocktail alongside passed canapés. Spirit of York’s distilling team will guide you through the history, production methods, botanicals, and tasting notes that give absinthe its iconic character. For the daring, a dedicated tasting station offers the opportunity to sample straight absinthe. Beyond the Green Fairy, the team will lead a guided flight of Spirit of York’s signature Gin and Vodka, offering a behind-the-scenes look at local craft distillation.
