The Great Writing Experiment: Where Science Sparks Stories

During the Great Writing Experiment, students will use science journals as they explore the Science museum using the stages of the scientific method and the writing process. All activities are connected to Oklahoma Academic Standards.
Each teacher may bring up to 5 students per adult for grades Kindergarten–6th grade.
If you would like to bring more than 5 students, that’s fine—just maintain the 5 students to 1 adult ratio.
Parents and student teachers are welcome, too. Register soon. Spaces are limited!
9:30-10:00--- Registration/Check In
10:00-11:00---Opening Session: The Great Writing Experiment Challenge
11:00-12:00--- Students explore the Oklahoma Science Museum with writing journals
12:00-12:30 Closing Session: The Great Writing Experiment Results
Each participant will be given a writing journal to use as a guide around the museum. It will be a fun writing time as students explore the museum.
12:30 Event Ends
You may stay and explore the museum until you have to return to school.
Schools will lunch on their own. Schools may bring sack lunches or eat at the Science Museum cafe. Lunch time at the museum information will be sent closer to event.

All attendees must register on Eventbrite. This allows OWP to prepare for the number of participants who plan to attend.
All registrations are $10 and you may pay online credit card, purchase order or cash day of event. You cannot pay by credit card day of event. You must register through Eventbrite to use credit card.
