The Great Spring Awakening ๐๐ฆAfter the quiet of winter, the natural world is waking up. Bumblebees are emerging from hibernation, hedgehogs are becoming active again, and gardens are beginning to buzz with life.
But emerging from winter isn't always easy. Wildlife needs food, shelter and safe places to live at a time when resources can still be scarce.
Join us for The Great Spring Awakening, an evening exploring what happens to some of our favourite garden wildlife as they emerge from winter โ and how we can help them thrive.
We're delighted to be joined by Richard Comont from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and Emily Harper from Wild Hogs Hedgehog Rescue, who will share their expertise and stories about bumblebees, bees and hedgehogs, including the challenges they face as spring gets underway.
We'll discover what these animals need at this crucial time of year and, most importantly, what we can do in our own gardens to make them more wildlife-friendly.
From flowers and food to shelter and safe spaces, there are lots of simple ways we can give wildlife a helping hand as spring gets going.
Come along and find out how to make your garden part of the Great Spring Awakening!
Doors open at 7.15pm and the talk will start at 7.30pm, with an opportunity for questions at the end. Free entry and the bar will be open.
All of our public talks are free to attend and are recorded so that they are available to all. This is made possible by support from @strouddistrictcouncil #strouddistrictcouncil
