About this Event
Join experienced guide Alan Blower for a walking tour starting at Wimbledon Museum and finishing at the War Memorial.
The event will begin with a presentation at the museum, followed by a 90 minute walking tour which follows the route of the grand houses on Wimbledon Common overlooking the Rushmere pond. The tour highlights the notable residents of the grand houses including aristocrats, politicians, successful merchants, but also the homes of the labourers and tradespeople who worked on the estates.
Duration two hours (including the opening talk at the museum)
Early booking is advised, as this is likely to be a popular event.
All proceeds from this walk go to support the activities of Wimbledon Museum which is entirely run by volunteers.
