Founded in 1882 by eight female students of the Glasgow School of Art, The Glasgow Society of Lady Artists had the aim of affording due recognition to women in the field of art. In their premises at Blythswood Square they had studios, a gallery and bedrooms. It has been described by Jude Burkhauser as "the first residential club in Scotland run by and for women".Visitors are welcome to come along. Entry is £8 per talk. Should you chose to join the Old Glasgow Club, this will be deducted from the annual membership fee of £35.
