We are beyond excited to launch our next Sip & Learn event- The Glacier’s End! We will have a happy hour/meet-n-greet from 5-6 & the presentation from 6-7:30!
From the Mississippi to the Wabash rivers, the Illinoisan glacier changed southernmost Illinois forever and evidence of those effects, are scattered across the region. An outdoor, experiential, environmental educator in southern Illinois for the last 25 years, Steve has explored, educated, and served in the southern Illinois Natural Divisions, their transition zones, and glacial termination areas with thousands of learners, educators and volunteers. A 2026 Illinois Department of Natural Resources Volunteer of the Year, and SIU Recreation Department Recreation Service award winner, he is a southern Illinoisan with a passion for the landscapes and people of the area.
Steve will lead his "Hike to Glacier's End" at Giant City State Park on Sunday, November 8th from 10am-12:30pm. Join us for the presentation on the 4th and register with the park to join him in the field on the 8th!
This event is FREE to attend. Beverages (tea, Wassail hot cider, beer, mocktails, cocktails) and light snacks will be available for purchase!
