About this Event
YOUR ELECTRIC BILL SHOULDN’T BE A MYSTERY.
Electricity affects every household, but how much do you really know about where your electricity comes from, what you're actually paying for, and why your costs continue to change?
Join us for The Future of Energy, a FREE 3-hour educational workshop designed for homeowners, renters, families, and community members who want to better understand today’s changing energy landscape—and prepare for what’s coming next.
With growing electricity demand, extreme weather, an aging power grid, AI and data centers consuming increasing amounts of energy, the way we generate, deliver, store, and pay for electricity is changing.
This workshop will break it down in easy-to-understand, everyday language.
During this workshop, you'll learn:
- How to read and understand your electric bill
- Where your electricity comes from and how it reaches your home
- Why electricity rates and energy costs continue to change
- How growing demand, AI and data centers are affecting the grid
- What homeowners and renters should know about the future of electricity
- How home battery systems work—and why they're about more than backup power
- How community solar and other energy programs work
- Strategies and options that may help you better manage your energy costs
- Real-world examples with time for your questions
