About this Event
The Founders' Lane: Business Owner Roundtables — Brooklyn
Not general networking. This room is for people actively running their own businesses.”
Most networking events put everyone in the same room and leave the rest to chance.
A person looking for their first customers may spend twenty minutes talking with someone solving a completely different kind of problem.
A business owner trying to hire, standardize operations, or expand capacity may spend the evening repeating the same introductory conversation.
The Founders' Lane is designed differently.
This is a monthly small-group gathering for people actively operating their own businesses.
Instead of one open mixer, attendees are routed into focused roundtables based on the stage their business is currently in.
You will begin with people facing problems close to your own.
Then you will move through structured rounds designed to expose the same challenge to different experience levels and perspectives.
There is no keynote presentation.
There is no pitch competition.
There is no forced room-wide introduction.
The focus is practical conversation between people doing the work of running a business.
WHO THIS EVENT IS FOR
The Founders' Lane is intended for people currently operating a business, including:
• Small-business owners
• Solo business owners
• Founders
• Independent operators
• Partners actively involved in running a business
• Owners building their first operating systems
• Owners managing an existing revenue-generating business
• Owners preparing for or actively managing growth
You do not need to work in a particular industry.
Businesses may be product-based, service-based, local, online, creative, professional, or operational.
The important distinction is that you are actively building or running the business itself.
BUSINESS STAGES
During registration, you will select the stage that best describes your business.
Exact revenue figures are not required.
LAUNCHING / EARLY OPERATIONS
Choose this stage if your business has begun operating and you are still working through areas such as:
• First customers
• Service or product definition
• Pricing
• Early sales
• Positioning
• Basic operating routines
• Deciding what to focus on first
REVENUE BUILDING
Choose this stage if your business already has customers or revenue and you are focused on areas such as:
• More consistent demand
• Customer retention
• Sales process
• Delivery
• Pricing refinement
• Marketing consistency
• Systems and workflow
GROWING / SCALING
Choose this stage if the business is expanding and you are dealing with areas such as:
• Capacity
• Hiring or contractors
• Delegation
• Process design
• Partnerships
• Increasing volume
• Managing complexity
• Deciding what should remain founder-led
These stages are used only for conversation routing.
They are not rankings of business quality or success.
HOW THE EVENING WORKS
Attendance is limited to 30 business owners.
The room is arranged into small tables of approximately six people.
The number of tables assigned to each business stage depends on the registration mix for that edition.
The evening includes three structured conversation rounds.
ROUND 1 — SAME STAGE
Your first table is organized around attendees operating at a similar business stage.
The conversation focuses on what feels difficult right now.
Rather than spending the first half of the evening explaining basic context, you begin with people who are likely to recognize similar operating pressures.
ROUND 2 — CURRENT CHALLENGE
The second round is organized around practical business challenges.
Topics may include:
• Customer acquisition
• Pricing
• Retention
• Operations
• Time management
• Hiring
• Delegation
• Partnerships
• Positioning
• Capacity
• Founder workload
The purpose is not to provide one correct answer.
It is to hear how other business owners are approaching similar problems.
ROUND 3 — CROSS-STAGE PERSPECTIVE
The final round intentionally introduces perspectives from a different stage.
An early-stage owner may hear from someone who has already dealt with a similar problem.
A growing business owner may hear a simpler approach from someone operating with fewer systems.
The goal is perspective rather than hierarchy."
