About this Event
The First Voice
A Safe Space for First-Time Poetry Sharing
Your words deserve to be heard.
Have you ever written a poem, journal entry, or personal reflection but never found the courage to share it aloud?
The First Voice is an intimate, welcoming gathering created especially for those who have never shared their written words in front of an audience.
This is not a traditional open mic or poetry competition. There are no expectations of perfection, no judgments, and no pressure to perform.
We will begin with soothing sound vibrations and gentle grounding practices to calm the nervous system, ease nervousness, and create an atmosphere of peace and connection.
As we settle into the experience, cacao will be served, inviting us into a moment of presence and community before opening the space for poetry sharing.
Whether you share a single verse, an entire poem, or simply listen and support others, you belong here.

No performance experience necessary. Just bring your words, your authentic self, and an open heart.
Sometimes the greatest act of courage is allowing the words we've kept inside to finally be heard.
Your Words Belong Here.
Come Comfortable, Settle In
This is a relaxed, intimate, floor-seated gathering designed to help you unwind, connect, and feel at ease. Please bring a cushion, meditation pillow, or something comfortable to sit on as we gather in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. A couple of benches will be available for those who prefer not to sit on the floor.
Come as you are, settle into the space, and allow the words to flow naturally.
