The Community Toy Chest is a FREE Community Holiday Toy Exchange for Shasta / Tehama County families.The holidays are magical, but they can also be really hard. I grew up with a single mom on a tight budget, and I remember what it felt like when providing the basics came before making the holidays feel special.
That’s why I created The Community Toy Chest a community powered holiday toy exchange where families can come together, give what they can, take what they need, and make the holidays a little brighter for their children.
On November 14th from 9 AM–12 PM, families are invited to come shop for FREE toys, books, and games, enjoy snacks and hot chocolate, wrap gifts at our gift wrapping station, and connect with local community resources.
No donation is required to participate. Ever.
Have toys your children have outgrown? Bring them along and give them a chance to be loved by another child. Donations are welcome, but there is absolutely no expectation that families give in order to receive.
Our goal is simple: keep good toys in our community, reduce waste, and make sure more children have something exciting to unwrap this holiday season.
This is a space built on community care, dignity, generosity, and the belief that we all deserve a happy holiday season.
Come give. Come receive. Come browse. Come wrap a gift. Come grab some cocoa. Come eat a cookie.
Give what you can. Take what you need. There is enough room for all of us.
