What if one of history's greatest works on strategy was also one of its most powerful works on entrepreneurship?
In Kautilya's Arthashastra, Abhishek Virginkar argued that the Arthashastra is far more than an ancient treatise on statecraft – it is a timeless philosophy of strategy. The Entrepreneur's Arthashastra extends this vision by applying Kautilya's strategic principles to a modern theory of entrepreneurship.
At its core lies a simple idea: the entrepreneur's greatest achievement is not merely building successful ventures, but creating institutions that preserve coherence through change.
From this foundation emerges a distinctly Kautilyan framework, introducing the Entrepreneurial Mandala, the Arthashāstrī as the archetype of the entrepreneur, and the Law of Enduring Institutions:
An institution endures to the extent that its coherence is preserved under change.
Across five interconnected parts, the book explores strategic positioning, power, adaptation, judgment, and the disciplined creation of institutions that outlast their founders.
Together, Kautilya's Arthashastra and The Entrepreneur's Arthashastra begin a broader intellectual project: building a contemporary Kautilyan framework for strategy, entrepreneurship, leadership, and enduring institutions.
