Come hang out with the Buffalo Writers' Co-op and The Rising Tide Fellowship on Saturday, November 28 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM inside the Main Hall at Bennett Wells American Legion Post 1780 (1356 East Delavan Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215) as we raise the $725 incorporation fee to make our local writers' cooperative official. I structured the day in two blocks so families and kids can relax over board games and early dinners from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM before the room shifts into a laid-back adult lounge vibe from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Real neighborhood solidarity.Honestly, the food and live art lineup makes Thanksgiving Saturday the best night to pull up on East Delavan. Local chefs Nate and Monty are taking over the kitchen to serve up a heavy Bayou Thanksgiving spread with Louisiana-style gumbo, dirty rice, holiday soul food sides, dessert, signature mocktails, and dirty sodas (we're keeping the hall alcohol-free so the space stays welcoming for everyone) while dishes sell separately at the kitchen counter. Hot comfort food. And between plates you can catch a live low-tech music set by Alex Mead alongside spoken word performances and community tables featuring the League of Women Voters of Buffalo/Niagara.
Look, admission is a flat $15 cover charge at the door for your all-day wristband. Doors open at 4:00 PM sharp.
