America’s premiere doo wop group brings their Christmas show to New Bedford!Celebrate the season with the supergroup dedicated to preserving and expanding the genre of the great music of doo wop. Featuring holiday classics like The Drifters’ “White Christmas,” The Temptations’ “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ version of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” along with contemporary hits like “This Christmas” and “Last Christmas.”
Comprised of stars from Broadway’s Jersey Boys, Motown, Beautiful, and Hairspray, DWP is inspired by inner city African American vocal groups like The Del Vikings, The Marcels, The Tymes and later The Four Seasons. Accompanied by a live, high-energy band, DWP delivers the classic sounds of the guys who, back in the day, harmonized with each other on stoops, in the subway, and on street corners.
DWP expands the genre by incorporating the sounds of more contemporary artists such as Amy Winehouse, Garth Brooks, Daft Punk, and Taylor Swift, to name a few, and give them a doo wop twist. Thanks to this exciting approach, DWP appeals to every generation – and how they have a hit PBS Special airing all over the country, five albums streaming on all major music platforms, and over 10 years of sold-out shows all over the country and the world.
