About this Event
The Sanctuary Studio welcomes The Dhiren Panikker Trio for an intimate evening of jazz, improvisation, and musical conversation featuring three distinctive voices from the Los Angeles music scene.
Pianist and composer Dhiren Panikker brings a deeply thoughtful approach shaped by jazz, improvisation, and a lifelong study of music across cultures. An accomplished performer, scholar, and educator, his work ranges from reimagining the Great American Songbook to exploring the rhythmic traditions of Indian classical music within contemporary jazz.
Joining him are Marlonius, a virtuoso bassist and composer whose remarkable career spans collaborations with Stanley Clarke, Wild Up, Quatuor Ébène, Stewart Copeland, and leading Hollywood orchestras; and drummer Pat Malone, a versatile Los Angeles musician who has performed alongside Bob Sheppard, Jeff Coffin, Josh Nelson, Bill Cunliffe, Tamir Hendelman, and others.
Together, the trio brings formidable musicianship, curiosity, and a shared love of improvisation to The Sanctuary Studio for an evening of sophisticated, spontaneous, and deeply expressive jazz.
