About this Event
You already know what you have been avoiding and you have probably known for months.
That part is free, and it hasn't helped.
What you haven't done is work out what the waiting has actually cost you, find the right words that opens the conversation, and say it out loud once before you have to say it for real.
That's what this evening is.
The first half: what it's costing
Why capable people wait, and why it never feels like avoidance while you're doing it. Then everyone writes down the thing they've been carrying, how long it's been, and what it has cost so far. Most people have never put those three on the same piece of paper. The room goes quiet while it happens. As Mia Wallace said, 'The uncomfortable sound of silence.' Here we chase discomfort.
The second half: saying it
Naming it is the easy half. The hard part are the spoken words, and what saying it costs you in the other person's eyes.
You will write the smallest true version of what you need to say. Not a speech, one or two sentences. Then you will say it out loud to one person in the room, which for most people is the first time it has ever left their head. I'll work with two or three people live, in front of everyone, on their actual words.
You will leave having already said it once, with a date to say it properly.
This is for you if
The business is working and something else isn't moving. There's a conversation you've rehearsed more than once in your head and you still have not had it. A decision, if you will, that is on your desk and has been pending for months while you've called it patience.
This is not for you if
You want to be told what to do. That isn't how I work with anyone, and it isn't what happens here.
The evening
Doors open at 6:00. We start at 6:30 and finish by 8:45. I open with my own delay and what it cost me, which is a lot more than I usually say out loud.
Randy Belham:
I advise founders and executives privately, one at a time, and I keep the practice to ten people. I have over twenty five years of building companies, been featured on podcasts, magazines and have spoken at Fortune500 companies.
I've never done this publicly, and I'm doing it once.
Venue to be announced shortly in Montreal.
The evening runs in English.
$150 with Limited seats available.
