Louisiana cemeteries have long been treated as sacred spaces under the law, but that reverence has not always been reflected in how they are treated. Ryan M. Seidemann, J.D., Ph.D., RPA, of The Water Institute will trace the development of Louisiana’s cemetery laws through cases of cemetery mistreatment and examine the legal protections that exist today. The monthly Special Collections Lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 21 at 6 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room at the Main Library at Goodwood.
