WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE
What if we stopped trying to be love and light all the time?
What if, instead of pushing away the uncomfortable, strange, messy, angry, grieving, shadowy parts of ourselves, we made space for them?
The Dark Side is a festival-inspired, sensory-friendly music and movement experience built around radical self-expression, exploration, and transformation.
For three hours, we'll take a musical journey into the darkness to explore hidden aspects of ourselves.
This is a space to honor the hard lessons. The things we've survived. The parts of ourselves we've been taught to hide. The weirdness. The grief. The rage. The fear. The power.
And then we move with it.
Dance. Stretch. Stim. Fidget. Do yoga. Pray. Meditate. Lie on the floor. Move wildly. Barely move at all. You decide. There is no right way to experience the night.
EMBRACE THE DARK. MOVE. FEEL. TRANSFORM.
And hopefully you'll leave feeling reborn.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF NIGHT OUT
Traditional nightlife and music festivals can be a lot.
The Dark Side is intentionally designed to give you the energy, music, movement, costumes, performance, and collective experience we love about festivals and dance events with fewer of the things that can leave us completely fried afterward.
Expect immersive bass, dark electronic and psychedelic dance music, theatrical dance performances, and a no-talking dance floor where you can actually disappear into the music.
When you want to talk or connect, head to our separate talking lounge.
Need less input altogether? Step into the decompression area.
Dying to take some selfies of you and your friends in your awesome costumes? Check out our photo booth.
Want to stretch, do yoga, meditate, pray, fidget, or just exist on the floor for a while? There are spaces for that too.
You might even find a friend or two along the way.
DESIGNED WITH SENSORY NEEDS IN MIND
Sensory-friendly doesn't mean sensory-free. This is still a music and dance event with amplified sound, bass, theatrical lighting, movement, costumes, and other people.
But we're intentionally reducing unnecessary sensory load and giving you options for regulating your experience.
You can expect:
- No strobe lights or flash photography
- No-talking dance floor, so conversation noise doesn't compete with the music
- A separate talking lounge for socializing
- A dedicated decompression area when you need less stimulation
- Fidgets, earplugs, and sunglasses available (just in case you need them!)
- Sound levels around 85 dB
- A dedicated space for stretching, yoga, meditation, and prayer
- Freedom to move between spaces and engage at your own pace
- A substance-free environment
Please choose the spaces and sensory supports that work for your body. We cannot eliminate every possible sensory trigger or meet every individual's access needs, so if you have specific concerns about the environment, please reach out before purchasing a ticket.
SPOOKY & DARK COSTUME THEME
We're reclaiming the DARK in Halloween.
Bring us your witches, demons, ghosts, creatures, shadows, gothic glamour, strange beings, underworld gods, monsters, and whatever else crawls out of your imagination.
Costumes are encouraged, never required.
