Join us at Four Rivers Cultural Center on November 7th and be among the first audiences to experience the world premiere of The Crown Maker—an inspiring new opera celebrating the life and legacy of Eva Castellanoz, a beloved local treasure in our community. Lobby Doors open at 6pm, the show starts at 7pm.
The Crown Maker tells the story of Castellanoz, a Mexican American healer, artist, educator, and tireless advocate for immigrant rights. Rooted in Oregon history and shaped by traditions of community storytelling, this moving production explores how creativity, compassion, and cultural knowledge can transform lives across generations.
Told in the style of a traditional corrido, The Crown Maker blends poetry, history, and music to honor one woman’s fearless community leadership. Through an evocative score and intimate storytelling, the opera celebrates Castellanoz’s lifelong commitment to uplifting others through art, healing traditions, and grassroots activism.
Her work created spaces where identity, heritage, and belonging could flourish—even in the face of social and political barriers. The Crown Maker invites audiences of all ages to reflect on the enduring power of cultural inheritance, resilience, memory, and the everyday acts of courage that continue to shape our communities.
