About this Event
- Starts Term 4, on Wed 14th October 2026 and runs for 6 weeks.
- Time: 4pm – 5:30pm
- The group will be held at headspace Fremantle, 39 Adelaide Street.
- You must be able to commit to attending every Wednesday for the full 6 weeks.
Join a supportive skills group for practical tools to manage big emotions and express yourself to others.
Informed by DBT, we will explore strategies to learn about emotions, mindfulness, distress tolerance and building better relationships/healthy communication. We will have opportunities to use hands-on/crafts to express emotions (no art experience required).
Are you facing challenges like mood swings, intense emotions, impulsivity, decision making troubles or difficulty recognizing emotions?
Spend the afternoon crafting with us, learning new skills and snacks are provided!
The 4 Core Skill Modules:
- Mindfulness: Staying present and aware.
- Distress Tolerance: Surviving crises without making things worse.
- Emotion Regulation: Understanding and reducing emotional vulnerability.
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: Communicating and setting boundaries.

All interested young people will need to have a quick chat over the phone with our friendly clinicans who will run the group to check your suitability.
This group is open to existing clients at headspace Freo, as well as external young people.
