About this Event
You don’t need another dating app. You might need a different way to meet people.
The Connection Lab is a guided social experience for singles who want something more natural, playful, and human than swiping or working the room at a mixer.
Instead of being left to make conversation with strangers and decide instantly whether someone is “your type,” you’ll meet multiple people through a series of facilitated experiences designed to help you relax, get curious, and actually notice what it feels like to connect.
You might laugh together, hold eye contact a little longer than usual, answer something unexpectedly real, take a small social risk, practice asking for what you want, or discover that someone you might have passed over on an app is surprisingly delightful in person.
The point isn’t to manufacture attraction.
It’s to get out of evaluation mode long enough to actually experience the person in front of you.
This is for you if you're single, a little over the apps, and curious what happens when meeting people is actually fun.
All genders, orientations, and expressions are welcome. The Connection Lab is queer-affirming, body-positive, and consent-centered.
***There's an optional hour at the end (5-6pm) to hang out, have some snacks, and socialize with your new connections.
"This was wonderful and I'd definitely come again!" -P.L. (participant)
"Probably one of the best setups I've seen ... so kudos to creating such a wonderful setup and container." D.G. (participant)
About Your Guide:
I've spent 20+ years helping people connect — for real, in their bodies, in real time. I use the Somatica™ Method, as well as a number of other modalities, and I run a pretty good room. You'll feel it when you walk in.
"I was surprised by how quickly I warmed up to people and felt truly connected to them." --R.D. (participant)
"Wow, that really boosted my confidence. It was so easy to talk to people." --S.M. (participant)
What happens at The Connection Lab
I’ll guide the group from start to finish, so you won’t have to figure out who to approach or what to say.
Over the course of the event, you’ll:
- meet and interact with multiple people
- explore how you naturally approach connection
- practice clear yeses, nos, not-yets, and changing your mind
- play with curiosity, humor, vulnerability, eye contact, and presence
- choose whether you want to keep things light, go more personal, or explore some flirtation and charge
Some interactions may feel silly. Some may feel warm or surprisingly tender. Some may have a spark.
There’s no matching system and no expectation that every interaction could or should become romantic.
You get to find out what’s there instead of deciding in advance.
Consent and choice are built into the event
You are always in choice.
You can accept an invitation, decline it, ask for a different version, pass on a prompt, pause, or change your mind at any point.
Some optional experiences may involve eye contact, physical closeness, touch, or flirtation. None of those are required.
You can keep things playful and friendly the entire time and have a complete Connection Lab experience.
This event is for you if…
You’re single and open to meeting people, but the usual options are getting old.
Maybe dating apps feel exhausting.
Maybe singles mixers feel forced.
Maybe you’d simply like a way to meet people where you don’t have to be especially outgoing, smooth, or good at flirting.
You do not need previous experience with workshops, somatics, or relational practices.
You just need to be willing to be a little curious.
