About this Event
Do you know exactly what you want to say - but find it harder when everyone is looking at you?
Do nerves make you speak too quickly, lose your train of thought or become overly dependent on your slides?
Or do you sometimes finish a presentation wondering whether anyone was really listening?
Presenting confidently isn’t something you either have or you don’t. It’s a skill you can develop.
In this practical three-hour workshop, we’ll explore techniques used in theatre, performance and professional communication to help you become a more confident, natural and engaging presenter.
You’ll discover how the way you stand, move, speak, structure your ideas and interact with an audience can completely change the impact of a presentation.
The aim isn’t to turn you into a polished corporate speaker or teach you to “perform” a presentation.
It’s to help you become a more confident and engaging version of yourself when you stand in front of other people.
What will we work on?
Through practical exercises, theatre techniques, and presentation activities, we’ll explore how to:
- Feel more confident when standing in front of a group
- Capture your audience’s attention from the beginning
- Connect with people rather than simply talk at them
- Develop stronger and more confident body language
- Speak at a pace that is comfortable and easy to follow
- Use pauses and emphasis to give your words greater impact
- Structure your ideas so your audience can follow them easily
- Make information more interesting through stories and examples
- Deal with nerves, mistakes, and those moments when your mind suddenly goes blank
- Finish your presentation clearly and confidently
Most importantly, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to put these ideas into practice.
Rather than spending three hours listening to someone talk about presentation skills, you’ll be presenting, experimenting, receiving feedback, and trying different approaches for yourself.
You’ll discover that relatively small changes in how you stand, speak, and connect with an audience can make a surprisingly big difference.
Who is it for?
This workshop is particularly suitable for
- Actors and aspiring performers
Develop greater stage presence, confidence and awareness of the people watching you — valuable skills for auditions, performance and professional situations.
- Teachers and trainers
Learn practical ways to hold attention, communicate ideas more clearly and make your delivery more varied and engaging.
- Professionals
If you give presentations, pitch ideas, lead meetings or speak in front of groups, learn how to communicate with greater confidence and impact.
- Anyone who gets nervous speaking in front of other people
You don’t need to consider yourself a public speaker. If standing up in front of a group makes you uncomfortable, this workshop will give you practical tools to make it easier.
"Do I need experience?"
Not at all.
You don’t need acting experience and you don’t need to be an experienced presenter.
The workshop is designed both for people who already present regularly and for those who would simply like to feel more comfortable and confident when speaking in front of others.
This is a hands-on workshop, so come prepared to participate, experiment, make mistakes, try again - and discover that presenting can actually be enjoyable.

Your workshop leader
Faye Morrison is an experienced professional actor, director and workshop facilitator who works in theatre, communication, teamwork and performance skills.
Drawing on techniques used by professional actors, she will help you understand not just what to change about your voice, but how to practise those changes yourself.
No previous acting or voice-training experience is necessary.
Come in comfortable clothes, bring a bottle of water... and be prepared to discover just how powerful your voice can be.
Yes — that strengthens the bridge between your theatre work and these adult workshops. I’d revise it like this:
About IPA Productions
IPA Productions is an educational theatre company established in Barcelona in 1997.
Today, our professional actors perform around 1,000 shows every year, bringing live English-language theatre into schools and educational settings across Catalonia.
Alongside our productions, we use theatre techniques, roleplay and realistic simulations to train professionals in practical skills such as communication, teamwork, presentation and interpersonal effectiveness.
For almost 30 years, our approach has remained simple: learning by doing. Our workshops are active, practical and engaging, giving participants the chance to experiment, practise and develop skills they can use on stage, in the classroom, at work, and in everyday life.
