What does it take to transform two active parking garages into monumental works of public art?

Join design partners Beyond Walls, a nationally recognized public art nonprofit with work in 18 communities, and Payette, an Award-Winning Sustainable Science & Healthcare Architecture firm, for a conversation with the artists behind “Nashua in Motion”, an ambitious public-art and civic-design project transforming the Elm Street and High Street parking garages in downtown Nashua, New Hampshire.

Moderated by Beyond Walls Deputy Director Tiffany Daniel, the panel will feature internationally recognized artists Mr. June, Eltono, and Leon Keer, along with Artist and Payette Associate Principal and Director of Fabrication Parke MacDowell.

The discussion will explore how artists respond to existing architecture, create movement and wonder on a large scale in the built environment and activate public space. Guests will see how painted visual languages can become sculptural forms and how creative ideas evolve through collaboration with architects, fabricators, engineers, contractors and municipal partners.

The event takes place as the artists approach the culmination of their on-site mural installations– installing three large scale street artworks across 28,525 square feet of parking garage facades.This beautification initiative follows nearly two years of assessment, artist review, concept development, engineering, approvals, surface preparation and production guided by Beyond Walls and their local partners. Related sculptural elements designed by MacDowell are planned for spring 2027.

Artists, architects, designers, fabricators, civic leaders and anyone interested in public art and placemaking are invited to attend.

A mixer with drinks and light food begins at 3:30 p.m. The program begins at 4:00 p.m., with the panel discussion starting at approximately 4:30 p.m. Audience Q&A and a post-panel reception will provide opportunities to continue the conversation and meet the artists.
