This training will explore the unique ethical considerations of clinical supervisors, providing a framework for ethical decision making.
About this Event

Supervisors are essential to the practice of mental health, but the supervisor’s role is a complicated one. Ethical considerations for supervisors can be very different from that of their supervisees.

This course will provide a framework to contemplate ethical dilemmas and make informed decisions that insulate supervisors from compromising their liability while also supporting their supervisees and protecting clients from harm.

This training fulfills the NYS requirement for licensed Psychologists of 3 CEs in Professional Ethics.

3 CEs available to NYS LMHCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, LMSWs, LCATs, NYS Licensed Psychologists and NYS Licensed Psychoanalysts provided by Hudson Valley Professional Development, LLC upon successful completion of training.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

-describe the ethical and legal responsibility of supervisors to maintain appropriate supervisory relationships.

-identify ethical challenges unique to the role of supervising mental health professional.

-apply a framework that prioritizes service to clients and support of supervisees.

In accordance with the NY State Department of Education guidelines, in order to receive continuing education contact hours, a participant needs to be present for the duration of the workshop/training. Therefore, participants who arrive late or leave the event early will not be granted a certificate of completion.
