The Cathedral Candlelight Concert returns this All Hallow's Eve with Requiem, Souls and Saints: A Journey from Grief to Glory! The candlelight concert is planned and performed by young adults from across Central Pennsylvania. The concert is free of charge and open to the public.
The concert will feature six talented young adult musicians from throughout the region: violinists Jennifer Kist and Sister Angela Marie, SSCJ; vocalists Brandis Ajay, Ava Adams, and Paige
Matteson Lieb; and organist Claude Fabinyi.
The program will explore themes of the most important parts of the Christian life: death and resurrection through sacred and classical works. The repertoire will include works by J.S. Bach,
Giacomo Puccini, Gabriel Fauré, and other composers.
Following the success of the Lenten concert, the All Hallow's Eve performance offers the community another opportunity to experience live music in the beauty and atmosphere of the Cathedral by candlelight. This concert invites us to enter into the true meaning of Hallowtide, the sacred three days that commemorate the faithful Christians who have gone before us: All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day.
Requiem, Souls and Saints: A Journey from Grief to Glory will take place on October 31 at 7PM at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1 Cathedral Square, Altoona. The concert
will be followed by a free social in the parish hall.
Join us for a wonderful evening of musical excellence, faith, and community, under the towering dome of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament - Altoona PA
