Date and Time: November 12, 2026 at 7:00 PM (GMT)
Venue: British Film Institute (BFI), Screening Room 2, 21 Stephen Street, London W1T 1LN
This special event marks the world premiere of newly restored and rediscovered footage from The Cat Creeps (1930), an early sound-era horror film from Universal Pictures long considered lost.
The evening includes a screening of the restored surviving silent show-at-home print, accompanied by a new original score by Emmy-nominated composer Ryan Chase. Attendees will also experience a preview of a reconstruction combining surviving footage, original sound recordings, production photographs, and the first public presentation of AI-assisted reconstructed sequences.
Film historian Gary D. Rhodes, filmmaker Russell McGee, and author Daniel Titley will discuss the film’s rediscovery, archival evidence, and restoration efforts, alongside the launch of Titley’s comprehensive new book, The Cat Creeps: Hollywood’s Lost Haunted House.
