About this Event
Join PrepWise Learning & Consulting for a hands-on STEM experience where young scientists become Anatomy Investigators and work to solve the mystery of how our lungs breathe!
During this interactive STEM Saturday, scholars will build their own working model of the human respiratory system using everyday materials. They’ll explore the lungs, trachea, bronchi, and diaphragm while learning how these parts work together to move air in and out of the body.
🫁 What will scholars do?
✨ Build and decorate their own lung model
🔬 Explore the major parts of the respiratory system
🧠 Learn how the diaphragm helps us breathe
💨 Test their model and make their lungs “breathe”
🕵🏾♀️ Investigate and troubleshoot their model
🎨 Complete a hands-on anatomy activity
📓 Add their experience to their PrepWise STEM Passport
🧑🏾🔬 Two levels of STEM exploration
Junior Anatomy Scientists | Ages 6–9
Younger scholars will build their lung model, identify the major parts of the respiratory system, test their model, and observe how the lungs move.
Advanced Anatomy Scientists | Ages 10–15
Older scholars will take their investigation a step further by making predictions, testing their models, troubleshooting problems, and explaining the science behind how the diaphragm helps the lungs inflate and deflate.
Every scholar will build their own working lung model!
🎃 Come ready to BUILD IT. MAKE IT BREATHE. SOLVE THE MYSTERY!
