This compelling exhibition, running from February 5 to February 28, showcases the rich artistic heritage of Africa, bridging ancestral traditions with contemporary expressions. We invite you to experience a vibrant collection featuring master-crafted sculptures, the complex beauty of traditional weaving, and the powerful, communicative voice of the drum.
An Immersive Cultural Experience
Rhythm, Storytelling, and Sound: The exhibition’s dynamic soundscape is led by Robert Kpogo, a renowned drumming expert and co-director of the West African Music Ensemble at the University of Alberta. Weaving together live drumming, historical storytelling, and rhythmic patterns, Kpogo will explore the deep significance of the drum as a symbol of community, heritage, and "the call" that unites people.
