After a 5 year hiatus, "The Britalian Job" officially returns!Join us on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th May 2027 at The Courthouse in sunny Skegness for the first (of many we hope) "Britalian Job Modernist Weekender"
Friday evenings welcome party begins at 7pm with Britalian's resident DJ's Shaw & Crew playing their usual eclectic mix of Mod Classics, R&B, Northern, Blue Eyed and Latin Soul, British Beat and as ever, a healthy dose of Jamaican Ska, who knows, maybe even a revival track along the way.
Guest DJ's for the evening are "Chills & Fever" and "Bristol Modernist Weekender"s (among many others) one and only ANDY HILL and "Track Side Soul Club" resident and already Modernist Weekenders youngest veteran JAKE ROBSON. I think we can safely say, we've got all angles covered there!
We've all been at work all week so an earlier midnight finish is pencilled in, we could of course be persuaded to carry on (we tend to not need much persuading) but we do all need to be refreshed and ready for....
Saturday daytime, outside in the glorious suntrap that is "The Courtyard" kicking off off at 12 noon.
The bar will be open with a great selection of very reasonably priced drinks,10 brilliant DJ's will provide the soundtrack to the afternoon and we will have an indoor market with a selection of vintage clothes stalls, records and who knows what else!
The scooter competition will be judged before we set out for a seaside rideout to a local country pub for a quick drink (soft, of course!) and then it's back to The Courthouse for one last beer before we head back to the B&B's to get ready for Saturday evenings event....
Which will again begin at 7pm and run till 1am (if you are still standing / dancing / even alive) with "The Britalian Job" in the main room.
Your trusty residents will be joined by MARIJA PRINCE playing the usual selection of Modernist dancefloor fillers and will end the evening as ever with the traditional "party hour" double decking and playing those old favourites that you can't help but drag yourself up for, and why not, that shiny wooden dancefloor is too good to go to waste.
Guest DJ's for the evening are two names that need no introduction whatsoever, the legend that is DAVE EDWARDS and The Don himself ANDREA MATTIONI. You know what you are getting there... bring your dancing shoes!
Dress to impress, we don't issue dress codes, on our scene, you shouldn't need to!
The back room will feature "Ronnie London's Groove Lounge"
dark and atmospheric with a sizeable dancefloor, it is the perfect place to be when you fancy something just a little bit different.
The eponymous Ronnie & Karl will be joined by brilliant guest DJ's (details incoming) and as ever will be playing a storming selection of Classic 60's, Northern & Latin Soul, Boogaloo, Jazz and Hammond Grooves.... Earworms guaranteed!
2 rooms for barely the price of a pint! It would be rude not to.
Bring your scooters, Lambrettas, Vespas, Royal Alloys, we don't care what, the more the merrier and the bonus...
