Folk duo The Breath is the unmistakable voice of Irish singer Ríoghnach Connolley of Honeyfeet, Lí Ban and the mesmerising acoustic guitarist Stuart McCallum of The Cinematic Orchestra.
Since their formation in 2016, the duo have released a collection of exceptional albums on Peter Garbiel’s Real World Records.
For The Breath, it’s all about the song. Connolly is a born storyteller, their mesmerising world of exquisitely crafted, honest, personal, heartfelt songs are as likely to touch on childhood summers and first love as cultural dislocation, post-colonial injustices and grief.
Ríoghnach’s impassioned delivery and extraordinary stop-you-in-your-tracks voice backed by Stuart’s stunning chordal inversions and motorik, assured rhythm playing is a captivating and fully immersive experience live. They transmit songs that tell stories in ways that soothe, stir, exalt, and touch emotional chords that will bring tears of lamenting joy to your eyes.
This is the band’s debut show in the city of Bath, specifically chosen as the artists of choice to close the 2027 Bath Fringe Festival. All tickets are seated in theatre style arrangement. Pick up your ticket while you can to avoid missing out on this formidable duo’s Bath debut.
A Fair Endeavours, Bath Fringe and Komedia presentation by arrangement with Midnight Mango.
