About this Event
Join us for The Bookish Buzz, an informal gathering of book lovers for conversation centered on an author, book, or theme. Hosted by Chapter2 Books at Black Rooster Bistro; we bring together authors or community partners for fun conversations inspired by books while enjoying the ambience and excellent hand-crafted cocktails and curated spirits of Black Rooster Bistro.
In September, we welcome author Thomas M. Nelson and his latest book, The Green and Gold Standard: A People’s History of the Green Bay Packers which traces how this small-market, nonprofit, publicly owned franchise became one of the most successful and widely admired teams in North America.
Thomas is also the author of Wrecked: The Edmund Fitzgerald and the Sinking of the American Economy (with Jerald Podair) and One Day Stronger: How Union Local Saved a Mill and Changed an Industry (starred Kirkus Review). He is the Outagamie County Executive (Wisconsin) and a former Wisconsin assembly majority leader. Thomas resides in Appleton with his wife, Maria; children, Mary and George; and four-legged kids, Barb (collie) and Charley (terrier).
Whether you're here to learn, share, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, it's the perfect evening out for book lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Both Chapter2 Books and Black Rooster Bistro look forward to welcoming everyone for another great year of bookish conversations.
Copies of his books will be available for sale at the event.
