Featuring fiddle, accordion, harmonica, guitar, bass, cajón and whistles, the band draws on Celtic, Americana and Eastern European influences to create a sound that is both rootsy and adventurous. Their set includes songs and instrumentals from Strike the Spark, traditional Celtic tunes and new material from their forthcoming album, weaving together local stories from recent history with reflections on wider world issues. Joyful, heartfelt and irresistibly danceable, a Blue Badgers performance is guaranteed to strike sparks on and off the dance floor.Lucas Marks and the Glorious Unknown bring a captivating blend of original, Americana-influenced songwriting to the stage. Along with his band, hailing from Manchester, his music carries subtle nods to the storytelling of Bob Dylan, the soul of Neil Young and the melodic sensibility of David Gray, while remaining unmistakably his own.
With two CDs, The Glorious Unknown and Winter On Your Mind available on Spotify, Lucas Marks has been gaining attention for his honest lyrics and memorable hooks. His award-winning single “Radio Silence” showcases his ability to write songs that resonate long after the final note. Expect an engaging live set filled with warmth, depth and finely crafted songs.
