Sold out in 2025 and one our most popular stages at the festival, we're upping the stakes at The Block Party this year with fine performances by Theon Cross, Lady Kamikaze and Block Party favourite Island Girl.

Theon Cross headlines the party, using his tuba to create "swaggering" bass lines and melodic, funk-influenced leads. Theon Cross is an award-winning tuba player and composer. He is a key component of London’s thriving jazz scene and his unique sound has been described as ‘innovative’ and hailed for ‘reinventing the tuba’. His work often explores Black British identity, his Caribbean heritage, and the, history of post-war immigration. Blending jazz with elements of dub, soca, grime and sound-system culture, Theon's rhythmic mastery has seen him collaborate with an array of established artists including Jon Batiste, Emile Sande, Kano, Makaya McCraven, Courtney Pine and is a significant core member of the mercury nominated group Sons of Kemet.
