The Black Fall is a progressive rock band from Enschede, the Netherlands. Their sound is a powerful blend of progressive rock and metal, featuring clean vocal lines that range from aggressive to atmospheric and immersive. In 2016, the band released their debut album The Time Traveler, an ambitious and energetic first statement. During the writing process, the band was guided by Menno Gootjes (Focus), whose expertise played a significant role in shaping the album’s depth and intensity.
Three years later, The Black Fall followed up with their second studio album Clear Perception (2019), exploring a more post-rock–influenced atmosphere. The album reflects on contemporary society and reveals a more introspective side of the band.
Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief) wrote about the record:
“It is not very often I come across bands who are producing great rock music like this, with hooks, melodies and atmospheres that stay with you. The Black Fall’s album Clear Perception contains just great songs. That’s why it was one of the most enjoyable projects I have worked on.”
The Black Fall continues its journey — driven, distinctive, and uncompromising. The band is currently working intensively on their third studio album, which is expected to be released in 2026.
