About this Event
The Black Ag Tour is a fun, invigorating journey through Fresno that brings guests face-to-face with an introduction taste of the people, places, and stories that helped shape Black agriculture in Fresno, CA. Although check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. at the River Park Art Groove Gallery, the tour itself travels throughout Fresno aboard a comfortable motor coach bus.
Tour Director Candice Hill of Tour Guide Cafe will guide guests throughout the day, sharing local meaningful stories, and connections between each destination. At every stop, guests will step off the bus for a guided experience and learn about the Black-owned or managed agricultural site, its products, its purpose, and the people behind its work.
The experience includes lunch at A. Nonini Winery, a local winery that will host a special pouring of Center Cork Zinfandel. Center Cork is a Black-owned wine brand by Demetrius Porter, and its festive Zinfandel will be featured as the perfect wine to enjoy during the holiday season.
This is not a Black-only tour—everyone is warmly invited. The experience is designed for curious people of every background who enjoy agriculture, local history, wine, community stories, and discovering something new. Guests will learn that Black farmers, growers, agricultural leaders, and entrepreneurs are not distant figures from the past—they are working, producing, and building right here in Fresno.
Come ready to explore, ask questions, meet local agricultural leaders, enjoy the scenery, and experience Fresno from a fresh perspective. The Black Ag Tour is an opportunity to celebrate local Black farm stories while enjoying a lively and memorable day!
