Veterans and members of the local veteran community are invited to attend The Battle for Relief: Marijuana Options for Veterans, a free dinner and educational event taking place September 24 in the auditorium of the Healthcare Training Facility at Williston State College, 1410 University Ave, Williston, ND. Doors open for social at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the presentation will follow.
The evening is designed to give veterans a straightforward, relaxed conversation about medical marijuana, including how North Dakota’s program works, what to know about eligibility, and where to get reliable answers.
About the North Dakota Medical Marijuana Program
The program is especially streamlined for veterans who receive their care through the VA. Those with a qualifying condition may be able to obtain their medical marijuana card using existing VA documentation, without a separate doctor's visit.
What Will Veterans Learn?
The event will feature an educational presentation led by Jake Mittelsteadt of Pure Dakota Health, covering medical marijuana and the potential benefits it may offer to qualifying patients. The presentation will also address common questions and concerns surrounding medical marijuana and gun ownership, giving veterans an opportunity to learn more about the topic and ask questions.
Following the presentation, Jake will be available to help attendees get signed up for a virtual doctor visit on the spot. There will also be a special discount offer — appointments will be $100 for veterans who attend this event, valid for 30 days after the event.

Veterans and members of the local veteran community are encouraged to register in advance. Walk-ins are also welcome. Registration is not required to attend. Five veterans who register through Eventbrite will be randomly selected to receive a FREE virtual appointment with a certifying health care provider.
