PANCOAST | ISOZAKI | JOHNSTON MARKLEE
THREE VISIONS OF A MUSEUM.
THE NEW ONE IS ABOUT TO BE REVEALED.
In 1930, Russell Pancoast designed the building that would become The Bass. In 2001, Arata Isozaki reimagined it. Now Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee are transforming it again.
How do you inherit a building already shaped by two important architectural visions—and make it new? What do you preserve? What do you change? What should Miami Beach’s leading museum become? Join The Bass for the first public presentation of Johnston Marklee’s design for the museum’s next chapter.
Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee of Johnston Marklee in conversation with Tom Healy, poet and longtime Trustee at The Bass.
