🤓 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 ‘𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗕𝗢𝗔 𝗚𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗜𝗡𝗦’?‘The Balboa Geek In’ sessions are a series of collaborative learning sessions designed for proactive dancers of all levels, building strong fundamentals and confidence in their dancing. The format is different from regular dance classes; these are workshop-style sessions that rely on everyone’s active participation and input. It is all about sharing and discovery, peer-to-peer learning, and exploring the dance together.
🚫 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧, 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧?
The Balboa Geek In sessions will NOT have a teacher, nor will you be spoon-fed material to practice. Instead, we’re coming prepared with curated topics to dive into for the first half of the session. For the second half, the floor opens up for you and your peers to brainstorm, pick your own topics, and break into groups to work on what matters most to you! The facilitator will help guide practice methods, keep track of time, and assist with group management.

The more boxes you tick, the more likely this is for you:
✅ You’re a Bal tragic (or well on your way to becoming one!) and geeking out about the dance for hours is your idea of a good time.
✅ You are eager to explore foundational technique, rhythm, connection, and flow, well beyond just learning a 'move of the week'.
✅ You want to challenge yourself, get fresh perspectives, and take your learning into your own hands.
✅ You want to choose what to work on, with whom, and how in a supportive, peer-led environment.
✅ You are able to leave your ego outside, respect your peers, and share your ideas generously.
